Yet is onderdeel van

This page gives you a bit more background on how we work at Yet.

Perimenopause and menopause are getting a lot of attention right now. That’s a good thing — it makes the whole subject easier to talk about. But it also brings a flood of opinions, theories and conflicting advice. All that noise makes it hard to work out what actually applies to you.

At Yet, we believe in the power of one good conversation at the right moment. Our approach isn’t directive: we won’t tell you what to do. We help you get clarity, so you can take a next step that fits you.

What we do and don’t do in a single session

Our coaching is based on Single Session Therapy (SST): a self-contained, focused one-hour conversation. So you know what to expect, here’s how we work.

What we do:

  • Make sense of your symptoms: a safe space to tell your story, and to untangle the mix of physical and mental signals (like fatigue or mood swings) together.
  • Share knowledge and insight: clear, objective explanations of what’s happening in your body at each stage of menopause.
  • Explore your options: looking openly and without an agenda at which next steps might suit you, whether that’s lifestyle, work or wellbeing.
  • Prepare you for medical care: helping you pin down the specific questions to bring to a specialist.

What we don’t do:

  • Diagnose: we don’t determine whether your symptoms have a medical or clinical cause.
  • Prescribe treatment: we don’t advise on specific (hormone) therapies, medication or supplements.
  • Push you in a direction: we don’t believe in one-size-fits-all. You choose your own direction. We offer suggestions and ideas, not instructions.
  • Long-term therapy: our strength is giving you clarity in one focused session.

We think along with you

Our menopause coaches are not medical professionals. We don’t diagnose and we don’t treat.

Think of your coach instead as an independent sounding board and a source of information. If it becomes clear during the session that your symptoms call for medical expertise, we’ll talk through the options: which routes are open to you in regular healthcare, such as a menopause specialist or gynaecologist. That way you’ll have a clearer sense of the next step you can — and want to — take.

Our sources

Because knowledge about women’s health keeps evolving, Yet’s experts base their work on current research, reliable independent sources and their own clinical experience.

  • Stichting Vrouwen in de Overgang: the leading independent Dutch platform for reliable information, decision aids and objective knowledge.
  • Dutch Menopause Society (DMS): the menopause group within the Dutch Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (NVOG), with current guidelines and protocols.
  • NHG-Standaard De overgang: the official evidence-based guideline Dutch GPs use when assessing and supporting people with menopausal symptoms.
